Upon stepping into this characterful period cottage, you’ll feel as though you’ve been transported back in time. You enter the cottage into a hallway with a door to the sitting room and stairs, it’s a great space for kicking off the walking boots after a day of exploring. The cosy and inviting sitting room has comfortable sofas, a TV, and a table providing the perfect spot for playing board games. There is a desk tucked away providing a place for guests who may need to catch up with work whilst on holiday. The sitting room features beams and a stunning fireplace, (the fire is not in use), making this a charming setting for cosy evenings in. A door leads from the sitting room into a bright and airy kitchen/diner with a door leading out to the pretty garden. The dining room has seating for 6 people, plus there are occasional chairs which provides the perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee. The well-equipped kitchen has views over the pretty garden. It features a large fridge/freezer, electric oven, gas hob, integrated microwave and washing machine. From the kitchen/diner a door leads to the ground floor family bathroom, with a shower over the bath, WC and wash hand basin.
Upstairs, there are two comfortably eaved bedrooms; the kingsized bedroom is decorated in keeping with the cottage, and looking around you will notice an array of interesting artifacts. From the occasional chair in this room, there is a view over the rear garden. Bedroom two has a single bed which is suitable for an older child or an adult. Due to the older style cottage and historical décor Penny Cottage is unsuitable for children under the age of 10. Also, upstairs is a WC with hand basin.
Outdoors, you will discover a patio area with a garden table and chairs and up some steps a sensitively planted garden to be of interest all year. The lawned cottage garden is a suntrap, providing a relaxing space to enjoy those warm Dorset summer evenings.
This character cottage has one step down into the cottage, some low ceilings and doorways, typical of an older cottage. The garden is a little uneven in some places and there are couple of steps in the garden up to the lawn area.
Penny Cottage has a permit for free parking for an allocated space in the West Street car park which is located a short walk from the cottage.
Penny Cottage serves as an ideal base for couples and small families visiting the nearby medieval ruins of Corfe Castle, and the charming steam railway which are just a 2-minute stroll away, adding to the allure of this retreat. With an abundance of walking trails starting right from the doorstep, it’s a walker’s paradise. You are also located in the perfect position for exploring the scenic Studland peninsula and fantastic town of Swanage

We've enjoyed the cottage. Very well Located, convenient for many things. we have been walking the Great Wessex way which is a 200 mile walk around Dorset starting in Sherborne and ending in Salisbury. From Penny Cottage we walked from Osmington to Bere Regis and we're very appreciative of coming "home" to the Cottage. Apart from the walk, we enjoyed Love Cake in Swanage and also Java for coffee, capes and lunch. Morton Manor we’re very welcoming when we had coffee. The buses are excellent from here, we hardly we used our car. The best place for coffee In Wareham is Goat on the main road. The shop was very well equipped and would recommend their muscles. Thank you for the use of your lovely cottage.
