Allingtons is an impressive four-bedroom property which has recently been stylishly modernised and elegantly furnished and is in a prime location, approximately 300 metres from the centre of the picturesque village of Corfe Castle, with its quaint village square and iconic Castle. The property also benefits from parking for two-three cars on the driveway and at the rear of the garden there is a gate that gives walking access to the Halves Common and to the Purbeck Way.
The property has a large open plan kitchen and dining area, with triple sliding doors, leading on to the west facing patio and lawned garden. The modern kitchen is well equipped and has an excellent range of units and appliances and a breakfast bar with seating. This impressive room is bright and airy, with additional light coming from the rain sensitive roof lights. The attractive dining area has a tasteful dining table and chairs, seating 8 people.
Leading from the kitchen/dining area, there is a step up in to the wonderfully relaxing sitting room, with flat screen colour television and ample comfortable seating.
Also, on the ground floor is a bedroom, a shower room, with walk in shower, wash hand basin and W.C. and a useful utility area, with a washer/dryer and space for hanging coats and leaving sandy shoes.
The ground floor bedroom has a 6 ft Super King Size Zip Link bed which can easily be split to form 2 x 3ft single beds.
On the first floor, there are 3 further bedrooms. The Master bedroom is at the rear of the property and has splendid views of the Purbeck Hills in the distance. It has a luxurious Super King Size bed and a small en-suite shower room, with shower cubicle, wash hand basin and W.C.
Bedroom 2 also has a 6 ft Super King Size Zip Link bed which can easily be split to form 2 x 3ft single beds and Bedroom 3 has full size bunk beds. All the bedrooms have the benefit of switched sockets, with USB charger ports.
On the first floor there is a stylish contemporary fitted bathroom, complete with shower bath, overhead shower, wash hand basin, W.C. and bidet.
At the rear of the property, there is a good sized, largely lawned garden and a patio area, with a table and chairs, which provides a perfect sun trap for some al fresco dining or to relax after a fabulous day out exploring this magnificent area. At the end of the garden, there is a small gate which leads onto the Halves, which provides a short walk to West Street or on to the Purbeck Way for some spectacular walks to Swanage and the South West Coastal Path.
Allingtons is a delightful property, in a superb location and has ample parking at the front of the property. It is approximately 3 minutes’ walk to the village square with its selection of shops, pubs and tea rooms, a short drive to some of the best beaches and pretty surrounding villages or from the village you can take a scenic trip on the award-winning Swanage Steam Railway for a fantastic day out in Swanage.

We enjoyed a lovely holiday last week. The house is very well situated in the village of Corfe Castle. There are lots of amenities within easy walking distance including pubs, shops, the castle, steam trains and a playground. Perfect for a family holiday. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need including a very good coffee machine and a basket of goodies. There is also a shed full of outdoor/beach games and accessories. There is a lovely view from the back of the house and we even heard an owl very close by in the night. There is parking for three/four cars and a bus stop opposite with plenty of buses into Swanage. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The only thing I would say is the ensuite is quite a squeeze. We are very likely to visit again. Thank you.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Allingtons, a very nicely fitted out property which suited our needs and we managed to park 3 cars on the drive successfully. We found the menus in the Castle & the Greyhound very good, using the 10% discount card for the Greyhound twice. Lovely staff in both pubs. Our thanks for the very “welcome” welcome pack. We very much enjoyed our stay at Allingtons which was a family get together for me, my children and grandchildren. The house was clean and tidy and matched our expectations in an ideal location with easy access to the meadow behind and it’s play area for the grandchildren and railway station and castle in easy walking distance. We received excellent service from Corfe and Purbeck Holidays who provided stairgate, highchair and travelling cot.
We stayed at Allingtons in Corfe Castle, there were 5 adults including my mother -92 years old - and we all really loved the property. It was especially good for my mother having a large shower room and bedroom on the ground floor. We did quite a lot of cooking at the property and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. Including sharp knives- a distinct rarity in most cottage bookings! We were very enamoured with the coffee machine - once we’d sussed out the instructions… And we were very grateful for the coffee beans and other welcome gift items. We made good use of the garden and the exit to the village from the back garden gate. We were very lucky with the weather, so we were able to sit outside every day. And we played boules which were also provided for guests use. The house was brilliantly located - just a short walk from the centre of the village. We had a brilliant time in Corfe Castle, and Allingtons was definitely one of the best, most well equipped holiday cottages I’ve ever stayed in, and I’d definitely book again if staying in the area.
We know Corfe and the area very well but had not stayed at Allington’s previously. There was only 2 of us most of the time with our dog but we had 2 friends come to stay for a couple of nights. The house is very easy to live in being open planned downstairs, makes the space very sociable. We didn’t have the best of weather so couldn’t use the garden very much but it was wonderful to be able to go straight out the back gate onto the common. The small utility room was so useful as well, we could bring the dog in and out that way and make sure they were dry before going into the rest of the house. I can’t think of a single thing the house was missing in terms of utensils etc, we didn’t use the coffee machine as we’re tea drinkers but it looked great. The welcome basket and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch as well. We have stayed in many properties in Corfe and the surrounding areas; Allingtons is definitely one of the best houses we have stayed in and will look to book for 2023.
We had a fantastic stay in Corfe yet again, we have stayed in 8 different cottages and this is one of the best. Great layout and plenty of room. Backing into the park was great for the kids. Cottage was clean, well equipped and had everything you needed and more. Corfe & Purbeck Holidays were as helpful as always. Easy booking and check in processes. See you next year!
We had a really lovely time in Corfe Castle village, and Allingtons was the most amazing holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. The layout and fixtures and fittings are top quality. It was immaculately clean and the perfect place for a family with 3 generations. We enjoyed our steam train trip and the model village and found the local shop brilliant. We tried most of the pubs and lots of walking for the fitter members of the family. Allingtons is really excellent and thanks to you at Corfe and Purbeck Holidays for great service. We would definitely consider staying at Allingtons again if we come to the area in the future.
We had a great stay, helped by the glorious weather of course, but Allingtons was a lovely house. Very comfortable and modern, all looking very fresh, new and clean. The large kitchen diner extension on the back of the house was a lovely light space to be in. The view of the castle from the garden was a real bonus too, with a good supply of new loungers in the shed. Private parking is something I look for, and it was very generous here. Being able to turn around before going out onto the road was very helpful, as the entrance is a little tight and the road can be busy. Corfe Castle is charming, and makes a great base with plenty of food options, enough shops, country walks with great views, and is close to other local attractions. We appreciated Corfe & Purbeck Holidays quick reply to our requests during the week. The overall communication and booking process was very good. Had a fantastic week at Allingtons cottage. This is a perfect place to stay, everything sparkling clean and all mod cons. Everything sanitised also in these strangest of times. In the most picturesque of settings and within walking distance of some wonderful hostelries it couldn’t have been better. It was perfect for walking with a field and park at the bottom of the garden. I couldn’t recommend Corfe and Purbeck holidays more. Thank you!
We all LOVED the property. It was a wonderful property and I hope that all its guests treat it with the respect if deserves. If we were looking to take our parents again or visit in a larger group we would look for availability in the future.
We loved Allingtons. Every inch has been carefully designed to make the perfect upscale holiday accommodation, with so many bathrooms, large comfortable bedrooms and an expansive kitchen to relax in. We loved cooking there and enjoying the sunshine coming through the skylights and liked using the well equipped kitchen. The boot room was great for drying wet gear. There were lots of walks from the door, on the common or hills surrounding Corfe, plus great views from the house. Good generous parking outside too. This is probably the most impressive holiday home we've ever rented!
The house was beautiful, and the open plan layout downstairs, flowing through to the garden was super for a multi-generational family holiday. All the little details like the flowers, dishwasher tablets and tea making facilities were much appreciated. We had a super time and we would recommend you to friends and or use your company again.
